Charlie and Lola was one of my favourite books and films when I was small. The reason why I like them is because the illustrations are really enthusiastic and lively. Lauren Child's style is different: she puts photos in her own scribbly drawings. She takes real photos and uses real patterns and then sticks them on as a collage. Lola is funny because she's got this little attitude and she talks funny like this: "My wobbly tooth must not ever never fall out."
