My Name is Mina by David Almond

My name is Mina is a exelant book I strongly recommend it and yes incase your wondering it is the same Mina from Skellig. But this time it's from her point of view and as her journal. Mina is a brilliant age ooo round about ten year old girl whose Dad died when she was young as I said in Skellig. I love this book because David Almond made Mina sound very intelligent even though she's home schooled ( taught by her mum ) because she was not understood in her school. One of her motos is `How can a bird that is born for joy sit in a cage and sing` because a cage is quet dim glum and has no persenality at all apart from mean selfish and boring.

  2. I am looking forward to reading this book because it sounds interesting. I feel sorry for Mina for being home schooled because it isn't fun at all.

    1. I'd sort of like it because then you don't have to get up so early.

  3. I'm glad you wrote about this Myriam. I've read it too. When I read it I really enjoyed it like I did all the David Almond books I've read. But I also thought, I wonder what children will make of this? Not a lot happens. Not events anyway. It's more what's happening in Mina's head. That, in its way, is even more interesting, but it's not your usual sort of children's book.

As for feeling sorry, Noémie, I didn't really feel sorry for her when I read it, though I do think she is lonely in it, and wanting a friend. The friend comes in the book this is the prequel to, as Myriam says, Skellig - which is a brilliant book!
