I think Francesca Simon's books of Horrid Henry are nice books. I like the way he named everyone like:
Horrid Henry
Sour Susan
Rude Ralph
Perfect Peter
Using the letter in the beginning of your name to describe yourself is a super idea.
In Year 4 we did the same thing: mine was Joyful Jeweled Ceyda. It wasn't the real letter but a letter sounding like it.
Francesca had to make Henry Horrid and Ralph Rude and I think it was fits well.
